This is a marvelous idea, and it really is comforting to my cocker spaniel who is terrified of just raindrops on the window, even without the thunder. Now I am waiting for the smaller, lighter, travel version that we can use to transport him in the car and to use when we visit family because this one is definitely not portable at all. Please let me know IMMEDIATELY when that becomes available! We need it now!

My Silky Terrier, Rayna, has really benefited so far from her new crate. I put her metal crate within the bigger Zen Crate and it works great. We have a lot of thunderstorms in the Dallas, TX area. The thunder is super loud and booming. Rayna is really afraid of thunder and garbage trucks. She runs around the house madly even though she has a thunder shirt. I have to hold her in a towel which is not very functional, especially when I can't be there.
We have had thunderstorms in the past 3 days and I cranked up the sound in the crate and she slept soundly overnight. I like the app also as I can turn the volume up and down and go from on to off to auto. I love the music and sounds, so relaxing!

Hi! I do not work with the great folks at Zencrate. I wanted to tell you my story, if at least, a shortened version of it. I purchased my crate last November. There were some weird things that I experienced....and their customer service was AMAZING. Seriously. Most places sell stuff and don't care afterwards, but not this company. Now, my pup wouldn't spend time in the crate on her own...that is, until recently. It would have to Storm at night and I'd have her get in her crate. I'd sleep right outside. Within ONE minute of her being in the crate, she'd sigh, get settled and fall asleep. FALL ASLEEP!!! Prior to that she would be shaking, panting and trying to get outside. Granted, I was outside her crate because she wanted to be near me. Fast forward to PA legalizing fireworks and 4th of July. Dusk would settle and my nervous, scared girl would lose her cool, and in the crate I'd put her. Same scenario, but I'd move further away...she wouldn't be happy when I first commanded her inside the crate, and she would try once to exit, but when I insisted, it was always the same reaction. Less than a minute, sigh, settle, sleep. We had fireworks a lot. Some during the day. She now goes to her crate on her own. We've had storms and heavy rains (heavy rain causes her fear, too). So while it took her 8 months to go into the crate on her own, and without me sleeping in front of it, I still say the investment was worth EVERY penny! She even goes to sleep in it when she's not afraid. A nice fan, music and noise cancelling....heck, maybe I'll go join her!

Blakely used to hide in the bathtub during thunderstorms. Calm chews and CBD oil helped but become very costly having to buy them all the time. We thought if the zencrate works the investment will be worth it!
We only showed Blakely his zencrate one time and he was hooked. He went into the crate by himself the next night there was thunder! Amazing! Thank you!!

Duke is a career change guide dog who became afraid of loud noises. It became so severe we tried meds. No such luck. The thunder coat works for many but his case was too severe. My solution was to turn on loud fans, air purifiers and play white noise. Cricket noise seemed to help. All is doable as long as I was home. I was distraught when storms would hit during the day while I was at work. I saw the zencrate when it was in its “idea phase”. All my friends sent me the info and said buy it for Duke! I finally bit the bullet. I worked for a few days giving him his treats and Kong toys in the crate. Then I worked on him going in and laying down. Now I say “kennel in” and he goes right in. The first storm I was home. I said “kennel in”and he went in. He was not afraid and seeemd fine. My $million dollar question was “would he go in when I wasn’t home?” Storm #2, I was at work. I saw him enter the zen crate on my camera. I was SO happy! He still barked- but at least he chose the crate over the dining room table. Yes. That is how bad it used to be. I pray the summer will be less eventful due to the zencrate. It’s his “man cave”. Woof.

This crate is awesome! My dog was never crated, so I wasn't sure she would use it. She has anxieties, afraid of loud noises. She would hide behind the couch or any other piece of furniture and shake. :( So i thought i would try this crate. It was very easy to put together, just snaps together. Nice. She went in it that day on her own. I let her get use to the crate without the fan for a few days, then turned it on. She likes the music. I love that I can control the fan and the music with the app. So now when she hears loud noises she goes in and listens to calming music. It's only been a few weeks but I think she likes it. Thanks Zencrate for building a great product.

This is Bundle (because she is a bundle of anxiety) and She loves her ZenCrate. It’s where she runs to when she gets scared, which is frequently. There are days when she only comes out of it to go outside. Thunderstorms are the worst for her but she’s also afraid of ANY loud noises, high wind, fireworks, pots and pans banging. There has only been one thunderstorm since she’s had this but it seemed to help her. It took her a few weeks before she started using it but now it’s her safe space I’m very thankful for ZenCrate and so is Bundle. Thank you so much again!!

We were lucky enough to receive our ZenCrate just a couple of days before our community fair and fireworks show, which happened to be across the street from our house. I’ll have to admit, our 7 y/o vizsla was a bit unsure of the crate at first. Come fireworks time after the fair, he instinctually ran into the crate on his own, which he had not done yet. It was amazing, and made us so happy to see him get through a fireworks show with not a single problem. So thankful he now has a safe place to help him through his anxious times. Thank you Zencrate!

Love my dogs zen crate. Excellent quality. My 15 year old hound mix sleeps in it during the day when she wants to get away from her human sisters or the vacuum. Very happy with our purchase. Wish we purchased it sooner to help relieve some of her anxiety.

Kaiya is extremely picky about everything from her treats to her beds to the types of flooring she will walk on! We bought the ZenCrate because we just moved to a new house and have a train that passes which I knew would scare her. Little did I realize that she would soon prefer her ZenCrate to the comfort of laying next to her Mom when bedtime comes. It was a little "big" for her - her old "safe-place" was her travel kennel so we put her bed inside the ZenCrate and she crawls in on her own and loves it!!! It was a gamble purchase that totally paid off!!!

I was a little skeptical about how sturdy this would be. However, it is a really nice sturdy crate. The top was a little challenging to put on but with a little wiggling we got it set right. The only hard thing to put together was putting the bed into the waterproof cover. Other than that it is a great crate, hoping it helps my scaredy-cats.

My 14 year old anxious Shiba Inu loves his ZenCrate. Whenever he needs to get away from the other two dogs or just relax and chill out he heads for his ZenCrate. The music and fan are soothing to both doggie and fur parents too! He goes in it several times a day and sleeps in it at night.

The crate arrived in 4 boxes. The instructional booklet was very easy to follow plus I watched the instructional video prior to its arrival. I assembled it myself (I'm 5'3 120 lb female) and it was not difficult at all. Took about 5-10 minutes. Downloaded the app and had it going in 5 minutes.
It is sturdy durable and looks like a nice piece of furniture. The music is so soothing. I have been putting treats in the crate and letting Cooper explore it although he has not gone in it without having a treat to guide him in. I figure it will take some time for him to acclimate to it.
During the entire process of ordering the crate and then due to hurricane Irma my shipment being delayed, customer service at Zencrate has been wonderfully helpful. All my questions were answered quickly.
Overall I am super happy with this product. Allthough I have not seen the benefits of it just yet, I am hoping this helps my pups storm anxiety. I will certainly keep you guys updated! Thanks!!

It took Abby a couple of weeks to get used to her crate because she hadn't been kenneled since she was a puppy. After encouraging her to go in by coaxing her with treats, she started going in when we told her to during storms. Shortly she was going in on her own. She even spent most of hurricane Irma in her Zencrate. Abby seems to have calmed down alot more in general and has learned to self sooth herself during stressful situations. Sometimes now she just goes in to chill out!!! Thankyou so much, it is the answer we were looking for.

This team has provided good communication along the way. The customer service on my order was fantastic. The replacement parts got here this morning before I got up. It took no time to put it together. I didn't even have to re-refer to the directions again until I forgot to turn on the power.....Easy to construct and configure. I love the On/Off/Auto option for the sound and fan. If we know the storm or fireworks are imminent, we can just turn it on and direct her/them to The Schnauzer Den. I greatly appreciate the excellent follow through on my damaged parts. I have backed several Kickstarter projects and this has been one of the best experiences. A year since the announcement and ten months since backing the project. It is a beautiful piece of furniture. We will probably drape a blanket over the front to see which way she likes it best. They love cave like dog beds and to burrow.

My Old English Sheepdog is terrified of thunderstorms and we will try anything to give him peace-- except drugs, tried that and it turned him into a zombie. I had high hopes that zencrate would do the trick and it almost does.
First-- putting it together was easy except we were perplexed about how the electricity connected because the video does not point out the connector on the outside of the crate and we kept trying to figure out how to plug it in before we closed the top. When we finally found the input on the outside we were able to complete our construction.
Once it was together with the zen pillow in place we tried to get our 70 pound dog into the crate and he'd have nothing to do with it. The door opening was too restrictive for his big head and shoulder height-- so we took the door off. That helped but he kept bumping his head as he tried to get in and turn around. It wasn't a place he wanted to be. In an attempt to give him more room, I took the pillow out to try and put in a different pad-- that still didn't work but he did like the music and would sleep outside of the crate. We also tried putting treats in the back of the crate but he just pulled the pad out and ate the treats.
We decided to not push it and wait to see what he would do during a storm. It took about 4 weeks before we experienced a thunderstorm and to our amazement with a little coaching he went in and stayed for about 30 minutes but he panted the whole time which didn't seem that peaceful but at least he was pacing.
We haven't given up and hope but it isn't the perfect fix for our very fearful dog. However, I want to state again that the quality of the crate construction is excellent and the wifi connection with the updates on our phones is a cool extra.

Have HIGH Anxiety (Vizsla) dog, has gone in once laid down, thought was it but he quickly escaped. I think product has great potential and hope to teach him to get it. Live in Fl which storms daily. Believe you too, so you know.

I watched the video on assembly, and it was super easy. Currently, my pup sleeps right outside it, because I stupidly had it set to "auto" when I introduced him to it, and when he stepped in and the fan/music turned on, he got startled. It looks like a lovely piece of furniture in our downstairs den, and that den has now become the pup's den. He sleeps right outside the crate (I'm hoping he'll move inside - its only been a week) listening to the music and the fan. Very pleased - thank you!

I just want to say what outstanding customer service this company provides. I purchased a ZenCrate secondhand, and couldn’t get it to work. I contacted the company and Megan (you’re a Rockstar!) went out of her way to get it up and running even though it was out of warranty. You can tell they truly believe in their product and are in it to help dogs suffering from anxiety and not just to make money. Thank you Megan & ZenCrate, it isn’t often that you find such conscientious customer service these days.

My dog is small, about 12 lbs. so sometimes when she goes into the zencrate, the music doesn't always come on unless she starts moving around. I think they should make a smaller crate for little dogs.

The ZenCrate was a snap to put together and I loved that there were no tools required. My thunder fearing pup is sort of "on again", "off again" regarding using her crate with the thunder is here or about to arrive. Eventually she'll get in there though once she's reminded how nice of an environment it really is. The fan was too loud for her liking so I'm happy that it can be disabled. The music, which I put on very low volume, seems to be a good feature for her though. The crate certainly looks nice which is a real bonus as it can be placed darned near anywhere in my home. I'll keep working with Skyler so hopefully the ZenCrate will be a habit at least when the weather is scary. Good job on a nice product!

While I’d like to give a glowing review my dog won’t have much to do with it. I’ll throw treats in for her and she’ll stretch as far as she can to reach them and then backs right out. She has yet to go in and lay down. I’ll keep trying but it’s not looking promising.
